Terms of Service

Last updated: October 21, 2026

These terms apply to your use of DubLift: the website, artist pages on their own domains and the BandEdit apps. By creating an account you agree to them. How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy; how we protect your files and your music, in plain words, on Your data, protected.

Who we are

DubLift is operated by Michel Maldonado-Pavlis in the Netherlands. You can reach us at support@bandedit.com.

Your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old.
  • Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Workspaces belong to the people who own them. When you join someone's workspace, what you add there becomes part of their work, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Your content stays yours

You keep every right you have in what you upload. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store, copy, process (for example to stream, transcode, separate stems or transcribe) and show your content to the people you share it with — and, when you publish it, to everyone. This permission ends when you delete the content, except for copies others already received through a link or download you shared.

Uploading other people's music

A private workspace is your rehearsal room: you may keep recordings there that you need for your own work, such as references, demos and rehearsals of songs by others, as far as the law allows. Sharing them within your band does not make them public.

Publishing: you declare the rights

Publishing makes a recording available to anyone. Before you publish, you declare one of the following, and by doing so you guarantee that it is true:

  • Our own work — you (or your band) wrote the music and lyrics, or you hold all the rights needed to publish it, including the rights in the recording.
  • A cover, licensed — the song is someone else's, and you hold a licence that covers this publication, for example from the songwriters' collecting society (such as BumaStemra) or the publisher.
  • A cover, with written permission — the song is someone else's, and the rights holders gave you written permission to publish this recording.

A video of a cover needs permission for the video too (a synchronisation licence from the publisher); a licence for audio alone does not cover it. Recordings of someone else's performance, samples and backing tracks need the permission of whoever made them. A cover without a licence or written permission stays in your workspace and may not be published.

We keep your declaration with the file and may show it to a rights holder who asks about it. Covers are never shown in the DubLift Discover feed on our homepage, even when you may publish them on your own artist page. If your declaration turns out to be wrong, you are responsible for it towards the rights holders, and you indemnify us against their claims that result from it.

What is not allowed

  • Publishing content you do not have the rights to, or a false rights declaration.
  • Content that is illegal, hateful, violent, sexually explicit or that harasses people.
  • Impersonating another artist, band or person.
  • Breaking, overloading or getting around the security of the service, or scraping it.

Reporting content and how we moderate

Anyone can report content on DubLift that they believe is illegal through our report form; rights holders can use the copyright page. You don't need an account. This is how we handle reports:

  • A person reads every report. We do not scan uploads automatically and we do not use automated systems to decide about content.
  • We confirm that a report arrived, decide without undue delay, and tell the reporter what we decided.
  • When content clearly breaks the law or these terms, we remove it or take it offline (for example by unpublishing it). We tell the person who published it what we did and why — which report, which rule or law — and how to object: reply to our message and we look at it again, with a different eye where we can.
  • Accounts that repeatedly publish content they have no rights to, or that is illegal, may lose the ability to publish, or the account. If someone's life or safety appears to be at risk, we inform the authorities.
  • You can also take a dispute about our decision to court, or to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body.

Points of contact

For users, rights holders and authorities (including under the Digital Services Act) our single point of contact is support@bandedit.com; you will reach a person. You can write to us in English or Dutch. Reports about content go through the report form.

Our service

We work hard to keep DubLift available and your files safe, but we provide the service as it is: features can change, and we cannot guarantee it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copies of files that matter to you. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage or lost data, and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the damage occurred.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms; where we can, we tell you first and give you the chance to explain.

Changes

When these terms change, we update them here and the date at the top. For significant changes we let you know by email or in the app before they apply.

Law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you live in the EU, you also keep the protection of the consumer law of your own country.
